stocking up
With just 2 weeks left in the school year, it was time to stock up on some low volume lovelies in time for summer sewing. I found some great Alison Glass prints and I could not resist the Dear Stella print. So darn cute!

Basics
I have been reading the reflections and predictions on Sew Mama Sew for the upcoming year in quilting. Trends and so on. Very interesting. And a few of those quilters interviewed are saying what I have been noticing over the past while. The new fabric lines come at us fast and furiously. It is hard to keep up with all the bounty. I find myself gravitating more to solids, and near solids when purchasing fabric of late. And it seems that other quilters are sharing that idea and there have been a lot of major de-stashing on Instagram as quilters try to re-focus their fabric stashes. I have my go tos. Reliable basics which include the Kona cottons. I have been stocking up on the brilliant colours found in the Moda Basic Grey Grunge line and I am such a fan of Alison Glass's Endpaper line. Oh my goodness! The colours are to die for.
Some of my absolute favourites are Clown Stripe by Timeless Treasures, Kona White, and I love, love love Michael Miller's Kiss Dot in Fog. I buy Kona white by the bolt and keep yards and yards of the other two in my stash. The threads of choice have to be Aurifil 2024 and 2600. What are your fabric go tos?

Fabric Happy Mail
I ordered a bundle of Alison Glass's Endpaper fabric when she had a bundle sale a few weeks ago. It arrived on Friday and let me just say it is so gorgeous. Deep, glowing and intense colours. Just what I was hoping for. Her current look book was included in the package and is drool worthy. Just saying.

Sunday Stash...
Lush Uptown. Seriously. Erin Michael for Moda. I have loved this fabric since I got my copy of Elizabeth Hartman's first book, a Practical Guide to Patchwork, because she has a quilt in the book made out of the original line. So when I heard a new line was coming out with some reprints, I ordered it from Pink Castle. Seriosuly. Paint by number fabric and paint pots. Love it.

It came!!!!!
Oh my goodness! Husband left me a message today that there was a package in the mail and that I might want to know that. Oh my goodness! I now have faith in the system. Online fabric buying from the United States and shipped to Canada does work. It took just a bit over 10 days. Not bad. Not great if you are wishing for instant fabric-gratification. And no extra duty, charges, taxes blah blah blah. I ordered from the Quilted Castle and I am happy to say that I would order from there again. Good story. Happy, happy, joy, joy.
So what did I buy? 1 yard of Meadowsweet Grand Foliage in Celery by Sandi Henderson for Michael Miller . On sale! And then 1 yard of Daisy Path and Meadow Dot in Robin's Egg. Same designer. And then 2 colourways of Trees, It's a Hoot by Momo for Moda. Too cool for school! And not to be forgotten Bella solid, Sunshine by Moda Basics. And sunshine it is on a rainy day! And this is just stash building. Pure fabric happiness.
