We got back last night and let me tell you, it was an adventure! It was the first time that I had visited the famous Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show and it was worth every minute! Well, maybe a few of the minutes we could have missed! Like on the first day, arriving at our hotel only to have our wonderful bus driver collapse with a heart attack as he was unloading our suitcases. Thankfully, Christine, from our guild administered CPR and we were happy to hear that our driver sat up for the first time yesterday so it looks like he will be okay. Needless to say that sent us all into a bit of a flutter. The company flew in another driver and we left a bit later the next day and everything went just fine until the bus broke down just after getting back into Canada. And it was stinking hot! But all our husbands and families managed to find us and pick us up off the side of the road instead of the prearranged meeting spot. It was like a convoy of quilting husbands! They knew what to do! Of course, we were all obsessed with getting our fabric purchases off the bus before the bus was towed somewhere! Who cares about our clothes, let us get our fabric!!!!!
Anyway..., big kudos to everyone, especially Marge who organized the whole adventure and kept us going with wonderful stops and great draw prizes despite all the other stuff! And the time with quilty friends was so awesome! I saw amazing quilts that I had drooled over on blogs like... Elizabeth Hartman's Aviatrix. Stunning. Simply stunning.
Or Violet Craft's Forest Abstractions quilt. Amazing.
How about meeting Jacquie Gehring? This is my buddy Darlene chatting away with her. Jacquie is wearing one of our guild pins. It says "I quilt so I don't kill people." He he he! I felt like I already knew her though especially since I spent all 8 hours chatting with her when I watched her Craftsy class on straight line quilting. Jacquie wants to know when we are bringing her to Canada so let's got on it people!!!!! Notice Darlene's tattoo. Yep, we all went to Sisters and got
Did I mention shopping? Lots of shopping! This was at the Sisters shop, The Stitchin' Post. What a fabulous store! Bought some Cotton and Steel there. Yep. Did I mention how hot it was? Oh my stars! Stinking hot!!!!
