Name: Safari Baby
Design: Lemons Squared-Fresh Lemons Quilts
Size: 36" by 45"
Fabric: Life in the Jungle, Doohikey Designs for Riley Blake and Stash Fabrics
Quilted: by me with Aurifil 50 wt in white
I finished this quilt this week. I think it looks fresh and fun. Just right for a baby boy. Our son and his lovely girlfriend needed this for a special baby who is due soon. I do love making baby quilts. They just come together so quickly that you feel you have made great progress fast! Gotta love that!
I spun off from the Lemon Squared tutorial. I didn't totally follow the pattern but followed the spirit shall we say.
I quilted it with Aurifil 50 weight in white on either side of each square leaving the quilt soft and floopy. Just right for snuggling.
Linking up with Amanda Jean for Finish it Up Friday.
As always your quilt is lovely and will no doubt become a keepsake.

ReplyDeleteI have some of these prints and love the way you put it all together. I may be using it as inspiration in the near future :)
ReplyDeleteOh I made this quilt about a month ago for one of my mom's friends who was also having a boy. It was jungle as well, but I prefer your color and fabric choices (mom wanted yellows and browns). I did notice that when I was done quilting, it was quite stiff. :) I really like your zig zag fabric.
