Coming in for a landing...

I have had a busy week!  But this evening, after some errands and dinner out with Husband, I sat down at the sewing machine and cranked out a new dog bed for Webster.  This is nothing fancy, people.  Last year, around this time, I made him a patchwork doggy bed.  I quilted it, made it all pretty and he has pretty much worn it to bits.  He loved it that much.  Quilting cotton just didn't stand up to Golden Retriever feet over time.  Fast forward to this year's version.  Made from DENIM and an upholstery fabric remnant.  I made a big poofy inside cushion out of many layers of polyster quilt batting (ick) stuffed into a pillow case made from a sheet.  I hand-tied the batting in place with wool.  Very old-timey but it works!   I stuffed the whole thing into the new denim outsides.  Fantastic!  I think you could drive over it with a truck and it would still be just fine!  100% from stash.  No animals were harmed in the making.  Animal testing did occur.  Even Peaches is checking it out!  As you can see from the top picture, Webster approves.  He did an exuberant happy dance, then curled up and is dreaming doggy dreams.

  3. It looks great and Webster looks contented. I think Peaches may be wondering when she's getting a custom made cat bed?!
