Cards with the ladies tonight. It's my turn to host. Wonderful Husband spent the day preparing the food while I was at work. I came home to a clean house and wonderful smells. He even made his own pita bread of all things! I popped out into the backyard to see if I could find some winter/spring branches to cut to make an artsy arrangement and yes, I did find those but I also found a clump of intensely purple mini irises that were blooming dramatically in the back flower beds. I don't think I have ever noticed them before. I think they bloom so early that I don't notice them!
Have you ever changed the blade in your rotary cutter and be astounded by the difference it makes? That was me yesterday. Good grief!!! I really should do that more often. KarrieLyne at Freckled Whimsy had a tip on her blog a bit ago. She was going to order some carpet cutter blades for cheap, cheap, cheap to see if they were as good as the "quilting" rotary cutter blades. I wonder...
Here's a picture of the couch quilt already to go under the sewing machine next weekend for it's very own quilty experience. I had fun with the back. Used a bunch of the leftovers from the front and then some yardage by 3 Sisters for Moda. I think it is from a line called Chocolate. But I am not sure. It is lovely though and goes nicely with the other 3 Sister's fabric I used for the front along with a whole lot of other stuff.
Happy Monday!
wow that is awesome tip about the rotary cutters. I went over to her blog, I am totally going to buy some next time I go over the border. Your quilt looks very pretty.
