I have been tripping along. First of all, I really appreciated the advice that Katie posted in the Flickr group. Katie mentioned sticking to a loose colour scheme to control the scrappy and get a cohesive look overall. I discarded my test blocks of last weekend as I felt they were... blah! I was using "icky-ish" fabric just to see if I was having fun. I was having fun. I have no idea how many blocks I will make but will figure that out as I go along.
Today, I cut a bunch of strips and got busy. I have decided to do the blocks in groups of four and to have a common coloured diagonal in each grouping. You can see that I have a group with a green diagonal and then I started yellow diagonal group. I am really liking the happiness of the blocks. It makes me think of spring coming. Hey, I will try anything to think of spring. We are in a cold snap!
Linking up with Judy's design wall Monday!!!!
I like your "happy quilt". It does make me feel warmth and spring like.
ReplyDeleteEven before I read your text I thought you were jumping into spring and your quilt was very happy.
ReplyDeleteVery spring-like! And lovely!

ReplyDeleteI love the colors you are using! It looks great so far!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful color scheme! It does look like spring. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to following you on this "trip". I plan to do the same soon as my scrap bucket gets a little bit fuller! I have been looking for the 9patch scrap pattern, but havent seen one I really liked till yours. I hadn't thought/heard about having a main color strip in each patch as you mention and I really like that idea. I was having trouble deciding "where to start"! Keep me posted on your progress!!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree thinking spring is a good thing!! I love your colors!
