Flea Market Finds...vintage sewing supplies

Well, you can never have too many needles.  And you never know when you might have a really big sliver or you need to repair a sail.  I don't even know what some of these needles would be used for!  I love the graphics on these very vintage books of sewing needles.  I must have hit the thrift store just when a sewing box of bits and bobs was emptied into tidy packages for me to buy.  In the packages were several spools of thread, some odd buttons, a tiny notepad, a brand new zipper, several diaper pins and then the things I actually took pictures of.  I told Husband that I had enough vintage sheets.  I came out of the thrift store with what looked like a vintage sheet but it wasn't.  It was a "duvet" cover!  Ya, that's what it was.  In reality, it was 2 sheets, sewn together to function as a duvet cover.  2 sheets in one, and a pretty, bright yellow print at that!  I have been turning my nose up at sheets as I really do have a lot of them but this yellow print came home with me!

the flowers are blooming and they go with the sheet!

All in all, a low key week at the thrift store but I never walk away from vintage sewing supplies.

There is something about those needle books that always draws me in, too. I would never knowingly pass one up, that's for sure. And the needle selection is really something good to have...you never know when you might need to use one of those!
